I am recruiting for a freelance Technical Project Manager opportunity in the Walloon region on a hybrid basis.
I am working exclusively with this client for this role. They are looking for a technical project manager with strong experience data migration projects to work on a large and complex data migration project. someone who can lead the migration end-to-end, while being hands-on with the technical tasks working closely with a Project Manager, but taking ownership of the technical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of a data migration project from planning to delivery.
- Collaborate with our internal PM to align on timelines, scope, and stakeholders.
- Perform technical tasks such as accessing external databases, creating dumps, transforming, and importing data.
- Ensure data integrity, performance, and security throughout the migration.
- Maintain documentation and communicate progress regularly.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in technical project management, particularly in data migration or integration projects.
- Proficiency with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a technical context.
- Fluent in English.
- Based in Belgium
Nice to Have:
- Experience with ETL tools or custom data pipelines.
- Background in development (ideally .NET).
- Understanding of data privacy and security standards.
- French language skills (optional, but helpful).
