Were looking for a Head of Product to lead the evolution of the Essential Mod by defining, communicating, and executing the product strategy and roadmap for Essential.
You will collaborate with design, engineering, customer success, and marketing to ensure our high standards for functionality and design are met across the board, and partner with executive leadership to drive strategic big-picture decision-making.
What you will do
- Manage, support and mentor team leads of cross-functional teams.
- Define product strategy together with executive leadership, based on user research, surveys, data, and instinct.
- Communicate product strategy and roadmap to the team, ensuring a shared vision.
- Oversee product lifecycle from ideation, to launch, to post-launch improvements collaborating with engineering, design, data and marketing.
- Ensure the team operates effectively, efficiently, and cohesively.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with customer success to ensure user satisfaction.
- Define and track key metrics to measure product success (KPIs).
- Drive alignment between product team and legal team to mitigate and manage potential risks and obligations.
- Lead the product''s monetization efforts and ensure their effectiveness and fairness.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, innovation, and iterative improvements (SCRUM).
- Coordinate with third party service providers as necessary.
Within 1 month, you will...
- Get to know Essential as a product with all its services and features.
- Become familiar with existing teams, processes, and workflows from developers through to customer support and marketing.
- Get to know the current staff to identify their roles in the team and potential management needs.
Within 3 months, you will...
- Be independently overseeing the day to day management of product development, including new features.
- Understand the current product strategy and take ownership of the product roadmap.
Within 6 months, you will...
- Be tracking key metrics to measure product success and assess progress and presenting these to stakeholders.
- Understand the legal framework of the product, including user privacy and reporting obligations.
- Initiate training or hiring where applicable to improve team productivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience leading a product team.
- Open to feedback and collaboration with a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience in using data to guide product decisions.
- Proficiency across a variety of project management, documentation, and communication tools, including Linear, Notion, Slack, and Discord.
- An ideal candidate has multiple years of experience with a supporting portfolio.
- Candidates with experience within Minecraft or the games industry are preferred.
What we offer

- As an Employee in Germany: 32,50 to 42,50 per hour.
- Employment is also available in the UK, Austria, Slovenia. Rate will differ based on local circumstances.
