Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Posting Date: 21 May 2025City: GenovaLocation: Genova, IT, 16129; Napoli, IT, 80142Contract Type: PermanentDivision: Civil EngineeringLevel of experience: IntermediateRINA is currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join its office in Genoa or Naples, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.MissionThe role focuses on building structures design, configuring structures, choosing appropriate building materials, and ensuring the structural soundness of buildings and structures under the supervision of a principal or managing engineer.Knowledge of Italian codes and standards is required.Key AccountabilitiesDesign and analysis of structural elements to ensure they are safe, reliable, and cost-effective.Perform structural calculations on pressures, loads, and stresses.Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.Develop engineering studies and analyses relevant to design, verification, and certification of building structures; provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.Monitor and inspect all work carried out by contractors to ensure structural integrity.Inspect properties to assess their conditions and foundations.Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements.Support engineers or engineering teams by gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation, and other daily tasks.Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under supervision.Prepare technical deliverables (reports, documentation, drawings).Prepare progress technical reports.Understand and adhere to the Quality Policy, executing activities in accordance with RINA QMS.EducationBachelors Degree in Building Engineering or Civil Engineering.QualificationsExperience: 4-5 years in structural engineering or related fields, with experience in design, analysis, and project management.Technical Skills:Expertise in designing and analyzing structural elements for safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.Proficiency in structural calculations using industry-standard software.Understanding of construction materials and their strengths.Experience in engineering studies for design and certification, providing technical advice.Additional skills include the ability to understand diverse situations, build trust, satisfy client needs, make decisions, manage emotions, pioneer change, promote sustainability, and think ahead.With over 5,800 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries, RINA provides certification, classification, testing, supervision, inspection, training, and consultancy services worldwide.
