Collaborate with the marketing director to develop a highly effective global commercial strategy.
Create the annual operational strategy, including priority setting and defining strategic initiatives.
Develop and oversee regional commercial strategies.
Lead the global sales team (currently 3 members) and expand the commercial organization where justified by return on investment.
Set sales targets and manage account planning down to the individual customer level for key markets and clients.
Actively participate in field activities alongside the sales team.
Train and raise awareness among sales partners regarding product values, technical specifications, and applications.
Expand the customer base among IOL manufacturers and drive further growth; build an effective and well-managed distributor network to optimize current operations; explore opportunities to enter the kit-packaging market if identified as a viable growth area.
Negotiate, finalize, and manage distribution contracts and business agreements with local IOL manufacturers and kit-packaging companies.
Define pricing strategies in collaboration with finance and marketing teams.
Provide enhanced customer support, including technical and regulatory assistance, through close cooperation with internal teams and departments.
Stay current on major market trends and contribute to product innovation efforts.
Be responsible for forecasting activities.
Anticipate extensive travel as part of the role.
Profile:
Successful degree (ideally university degree) in medical technology, business administration, or a comparable field.
Must be fluent in English; ideally also speak German.
Ideally possess sales training and leadership certificates.
Minimum of 8 years of successful international sales experience in a related area, ideally in Ophthalmology.
Proven track record of successful leadership in sales.
Experience in more than one company is preferred.
Proven track record of field work delivering sales growth.
Proven success in key account and distributor management, with existing relationships with main customers relevant for Medicel preferred.
Experience in strategic international management, including developing commercial strategies, focus and priority setting, strategic initiatives, and execution.
Experience in creating strong business plans and executing them, with some exposure to channel crossing issues.
Experience in establishing pricing strategies.
Proven ability to establish successful business partnerships and negotiate business agreements.
