What you will doThis position will be an integral part of the European Engineering Center (EEC), supporting the Global Controls product organization. The role involves contributing to the NPI (New Product Introduction) process for field device products and solutions such as actuators, sensors, and controllers, as well as defining and implementing improvements and customizations of existing products. The engineer will collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams across the US, India, and China to develop a compelling product portfolio for the European market. The ideal candidate should have a background in HW and FW design for controllers and electronic devices, with knowledge of control systems and methodologies; familiarity with HVAC/BAS systems is a plus.How you will do itLead the technical specification and development of new product hardware and firmware.Design and develop hardware and firmware for next-generation products, with experience in both analog and digital design.Provide innovative leadership in process improvements for electronic hardware and firmware development.Participate in system development to ensure designs meet requirements and standards (CE, UL, etc.).Contribute to evaluating product requirements and constraints.Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.Lead projects from design through deployment, collaborating with engineering, product management, quality, procurement, and manufacturing teams.Handle mechanical design, CAD, electronic control boards, documentation, PLM management, and testing activities.Define product conformance and qualification test plans, supporting testing and issue resolution.Analyze and resolve complex hardware/software issues.Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation and contingency plans.Contribute to innovation and intellectual property development.EHS:Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements.Implement emergency prevention and operational controls.Report accidents, illnesses, and emergencies.QualityMaintain quality standards related to the role.Adhere to the Global Design Process.What we look forMasters degree in Electronic Engineering.At least 5 years of experience in HW/FW design of embedded microprocessor controls (industrial automation, HVAC, etc.).Knowledge of embedded microprocessor architectures (ARM Cortex, etc.).Development experience with products.Proficiency with HW CAD/simulation tools (Mentor Graphics, Altium, Spice).Programming skills (C/C++, etc.).Experience with electronic testing equipment.Understanding of the complete product development lifecycle.Knowledge of European EMC standards and regulations.Experience in project investment and cost estimation, with a focus on cost reduction.Project management skills and change management familiarity.Experience with system integration, communication, and IoT is a plus.Basic knowledge of BAS technologies is a plus.Ability to write technical specifications and documentation.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Team player with the ability to work in multicultural, multinational teams.Willingness to travel abroad up to 20%.Self-managed, resilient, and adaptable to change.Fluent in Italian and English, both spoken and written.Proficient with MS Office.Our benefitsWe offer a dynamic environment that fosters growth and diversity, with opportunities to impact global projects.
