The position reports directly to the Executive Director (ED), Global Value, Access & Pricing (GVAP) Lead, Hematology, and is responsible for developing GVAP strategies across the Hematology portfolio for assets assigned by the ED, GVAP, Lead, Hematology.
This role may involve responsibilities for pipeline or inline assets. A "pipeline asset" is an internally developed or externally acquired or licensed asset for which no major regulatory filing has been made by Company Leadership. An asset remains a pipeline until approximately 9-12 months before the first regulatory filing, after which it is considered inline, including future indications or line extensions. The ED, GVAP, Lead Hematology, may amend or reassign duties as needed.
Regarding pipeline duties, the Director provides strategic insights to ensure pipeline assets meet market access needs and maximize commercial potential. This includes identifying evidentiary gaps in clinical development that could affect reimbursement and pricing, working cross-functionally to develop recommendations, and estimating the impact of clinical scenarios on access and price potential. The Director will discuss dissemination of analysis with the ED and may support portfolio prioritization.
For inline assets, the Director drives value demonstration and access activities, ensuring comprehensive market access, pricing, and value strategies in collaboration with regional teams. The role involves developing overarching strategies, operational foundations (value messaging, launch tools, pricing guidance), and serving as the primary contact for access needs. The goal is to align commercial strategies with evolving payer needs globally.
Regardless of focus, the individual must leverage market access expertise to drive success in the hematology portfolio, understanding global payer needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None; involves high-level cross-functional collaboration.
Education: Undergraduate science degree required; postgraduate degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) and/or MBA preferred.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Other Qualifications: Minimum 10 years pharma experience, with at least 5 in pipeline/HEOR/Market Access; experience with HTA markets, US managed care, and launch is required. Deep understanding of global pricing, reimbursement landscapes, and health economics is essential. Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus. Strong interpersonal, analytical, strategic, and leadership skills are necessary.
Travel: Approximately 15% of time.
