What''s the job?The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement to ensure the timely, cost effective replenishment of product in accordance with customer demand/requirements and targeted inventory levels. This role focuses on the achievement of customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and operational KPI to drive a reduction in cost of goods sold and an improvement in working capital.This is a high visibility tole with our company, and is anticipated to have a growing impact with the company. For this role, we are targeting a pay range of $77k-$85k.Some Things You''ll be DoingDevelop and maintain a high performance culture resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs and Monthly Targets tied to Purchasing. Effectively employ the 5-Why and Countermeasure Process for those monthly targets not met utilizing the 80/20 methodology.- Manage and monitor the effective utilization of AFP to meet customer demand/expectations while maximizing inventory turns and cash flow.- Create Supplier Partnerships with the top spend and keep appraised of economic and business situations related to the Supply Chain. Conduct periodic line by line reviews in an effort to drive down shortages, improve lead-times, and drive on-time shipments to customers.- Qualify new suppliers to ensure that the capacity, material management, and quality programs meet or exceed established requirements.- Effectively communicate with internal teams acting as the liaison with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Manufacturing with regard to the sourcing needs of existing products as well as new product development initiatives.- Maintain primary and secondary suppliers to secure availability of products in the 80.- Monitor supplier performance and create sourcing strategy for the 80 skus.- Negotiate annual contracts- Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives tied to product flow and efficienciesWhat You Need to HaveBachelors Degree or equivalent experience required- 7+ years relevant supply chain experience- Reasoning ability - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions.
