Senior Industrialization / Manufacturing Engineering Manager Battery Cell Manufacturing (Greenfield Project)
Location: Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France (Bordeaux, Angoulme, or Poitiers area)
Reporting to: Plant General Manager & Group Industrial Project Director
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Industrialization Manager to lead the plant manufacturing engineering , industrialisation , including a major strategic greenfield industrial projectthe development and launch of a new battery cell manufacturing facility dedicated to high-tech industries including aerospace, defense, marine, rail, and mobility (excluding automotive). This is a key role within a group engaged in the energy transition and future-facing technologies.
This position combines industrial project execution and new product launch management, while also building and leading a team of technical specialists and working closely with international teams in North America.
Your Mission: Orchestrate the Entire Industrial Project Lifecycle
Reporting directly to the Plant General Manager and the Division Industrial Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end industrialization of a state-of-the-art manufacturing site with a targeted capacity of 300,000 battery cells annually.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Feasibility & Planning
- Lead feasibility studies for a multi-million-euro investment.
- Define technical infrastructure and production equipment requirements in coordination with engineering teams.
2. Equipment Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify and select vendors for complex machinery (chemical and mechanical processes: mixing, coating, electrode manufacturing, assembly, testing).
- Oversee equipment design, build, and acceptance.
3. Project Execution & Ramp-Up
- Supervise on-site installation, commissioning, and pilot line start-up.
- Drive ramp-up and performance stabilization of production equipment.
4. Governance & Reporting
- Report directly to the Plant GM with responsibility for budget, timeline, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Launch Management
- Support and manage future industrial product launches within the plant.
- Coordinate with international R&D and industrial teams to ensure successful production readiness.
Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- Proven track record managing industrialisation department , manufacturing engineering , NPI & launch, Process , equipment & ramp up , standards &planning,
- Experience in Greenfield , full-scope industrial projects: infrastructure, equipment, and production environments is a plus
- Experience in complex industrial environments, preferably in battery cell manufacturing, gigafactory setups, or alternatively in semiconductors, electronics, or medical devices involving clean/dry rooms and specialized equipment.
- Bonus: Knowledge of battery cell processes : from chemistry : mixing, coating, electrode production, to mechanical : assembly, welding , testing).
Skills:
- Strong project management from concept to production.
- Deep understanding of industrial equipment and supplier ecosystems.
- Ability to lead pilot line deployment and full-scale industrialization.

Language & Mobility:
- Conversational French required - French being the local language
- Willingness to relocate to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Locations such as Bordeaux, Angoulme, or Poitiers are possible. Regular commuting may also be considered based on feasibility.
