Postdoctoral Research in Planetary GeophysicsEmployerRoma Tre University - Mathematics and Physics DepartmentRoma Tre University is a young university established in 1992. It has rapidly grown in terms of student population and range of study programs offered. It is highly ranked internationally, especially among young universities.Research AreasCryospheric Sciences (CR)Planetary and Solar System Sciences (PS)Position DetailsType: Full timeLevel: Entry levelPreferred education: PhDPosted: 23 May 2025This is a three-year position funded within the framework of the ERC Advanced Grant SWIM (Surfing Radio Waves to Detect Liquid Water in the Solar System). The main objective of the SWIM project is to assess the dielectric properties of materials inside Jovian satellites ice shells and to determine conditions under which liquid water can be detected using radio waves. At the early stage of the project, a novel setup will be built to measure ice dielectric properties at cryogenic temperatures in the frequency range of 1-100 MHz. The Postdoctoral candidate will contribute to the design, construction, and testing of a multi-system for measuring high and low-frequency ice properties, as well as assess structural characteristics and analyze ice samples using microtomography.#J-18808-Ljbffr
