San Clemente Palace is looking for a HOTEL PURCHASINGMANAGER, in Venice. SCOPE The overall scope of this role is tocoordinate and manage all operations of the Purchasing, Receivingand Storeroom Department. The role will be starting as a seasonalcontract and then may convert to indefinitely contract at the endof the season. OVERALL OBJECTIVES To safeguard the financialintegrity and stability of the hotel and minimize any exposure topotential risks. To ensure that all departments of the hotel haveadequate supplies to perform their duties. To continuously researchand find new and alternative products to improve the operation andreduce costs. Hotel Purchasing Manager job is executedsatisfactorily when: - All operational needs are met consistentlyand in a timely manner. - Best products are obtained at the bestquality and price available. - New products are continuouslysourced, and hotel is kept up to date with latest trends andproducts. COMPETENCIES - Language Ability to speak Italian andEnglish in excellent level - Ability to handle high volume withattention and detail - Has cost analysis and cost management skills- Knowledge of purchasing software system; preferably Navision orBusiness Center - Responsible for working together with the Chef inorder to obtain the best products and prices available MAINRESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for working together with the Chefto obtain the best products and prices available; reviewing marketlist and offers daily. - Responsible for behaving in a professionaland harmonious manner and following the code of conduct. -Responsible for maintaining a good relationship with businesspartners. - Responsible for keeping up to date with latest trendsand products. - Responsible for ensuring that competitive biddingis taking place and that business is awarded fairly and ethically.- Responsible for monitoring slow moving and dead stock as well askeeping the stock levels in accordance with operational needs. -Responsible for ensuring that all deliveries and issues aredocumented and processed correctly. - Responsible for ensuring thatcommunication is taking place with all departments in regards tomatters that would in any way affect the operation. - Responsiblefor ensuring that all areas are secure, organized and clean. -Responsible for supervising, training and motivating the Purchasingdepartment staff. - Responsible for hiring, disciplinary actions,evaluations, scheduling, etc. - Responsible for performing anyadditional duties assigned by the controller and assisting in otherareas of Finance as needed. - Responsible for communicating withFinancial Controller on any discrepancies or other potentialproblems.
