As a Data Scientist at VF Corporation, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights. You will work on challenging problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven decision-making across all functions and brands of VF Corporation.
We expect you to deliver outstanding results while fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- Develop predictive models in DTC marketing.
- Develop models for supply and demand chain management.
- Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure high performance.
- Present results to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and DevOps to advance model productionization.
Skills for Success
A successful Data Scientist contributes across the entire data science development chain: understanding business requests, retrieving data, developing models, and presenting results to management and stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Python Proficiency: Ability to write efficient, clean Python code for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Data Science and Machine Learning: Strong understanding of core ML concepts (clustering, classification, regression, dimensionality reduction).
- Time Series Forecasting: Extensive experience with statistical, ML, and DL methods.
- Deep Learning and Generative AI: Knowledge of neural network topologies for computer vision and NLP (CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders, transformers, LLMs, diffusion models, RAG, etc.).
- Hyperparameter Optimization: Familiarity with practices like Bayesian optimization.
- Statistical Analysis: Skills in hypothesis testing, A/B testing, and statistical modeling.
- Querying and Databases: Deep SQL knowledge; familiarity with other languages is a plus.
- Nice to Have: Knowledge of recommender systems.
- Tools and Platforms: Experience with Git, AWS services (e.g., Sagemaker, Redshift, Bedrock), PowerBI or Tableau.
Soft Skills
- Adaptability: Ability to respond swiftly to changes.
- Self-Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks effectively.
- Teamwork: Positive, proactive collaboration attitude.
- Communication: Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written skills.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required; retail experience is a plus.
