The Project Excellence Specialist plays a key role in delivering Large Capital Projects (LCPD) by embedding project management tools, frameworks, and governance. Acting as a change agent, youll work with leadership to drive consistent, efficient execution and champion Lean methods to boost project performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Change Management & Tools Implementation
- Support Project Leaders in planning and delivering change strategies to adopt frameworks, governance, and tools.
- Run onboarding, training, and communication to ensure engagement and buy-in.
- Track adoption, tackle resistance, and provide ongoing support.
- Promote a proactive, "can-do" LCPD mindset.
2. Governance & Coordination
- Maintain the LCPD Project Handbook.
- Lead the project gating process with the IPO team and wider organisation.
- Improve governance structures like stage gates, risk management, and decision-making.
- Keep documentation up to date and track progress and lessons learned.
3. Operational Excellence in Delivery
- Run Lean training sessions covering TIMWOOD, Kaizen, 5S, and visual management.
- Work with teams to apply Lean throughout project phases.
- Measure and share the impact on cost, schedule, quality, and engagement.
4. Continuous Improvement & Best Practice
- Capture lessons learned and benchmark best practices.
- Develop tools, templates, and lead learning sessions to raise standards.
5. Project Performance Improvement
- Drive actions to improve cost, schedule, risk, and quality.
- Identify improvements through data and feedback.
- Work with stakeholders on corrective actions and ensure results are sustained.
The right candidate needs:
- 5+ years of experience in Project Excellence for Large CAPEX projects
- Fluent in English and French is a must
- Ideally, PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma and Prosci
