An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Facility / Project Engineer to support the development and operation of gas production facilities in the Netherlands. This contract-based role (50100% workload) will be based in Amsterdam , with occasional site visits to the Harlingen area .
In this role, you''ll play a key part in maximizing asset value through safe, efficient, and cost-effective project planning and execution. From brownfield upgrades to new facility developments, you''ll help ensure operational excellence and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
##128295; Key Responsibilities:
Manage gas facility projects end-to-end: scoping, design, cost estimating, procurement, approvals, commissioning, and startup.
Lead both brownfield and greenfield developments (well connections, upgrades, construction).
Coordinate design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS), apply PM best practices, and manage internal MOC processes.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and HSE teams to align project goals.
Foster strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Support capital planning with technical input on facility needs.
What We''re Looking For:
~10+ years of experience in the oil gas industry, with a strong track record in project and facilities engineering.
~ Background in Process/Chemical Engineering preferred.
~ Knowledge of HSE and Asset Integrity Management Systems.
~ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
~ Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
~ Familiarity with emissions projects and Dutch regulatory standards is a plus.

BSc/MSc in Engineering or equivalent through experience.
HBO+ level (HTS, University, or Industrial Engineering).
VCA / VOL certification preferred.
