- The Proposal Engineer is responsible for translating the specifications provided by a prospect client into a ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) or FFP (Fixed Firm Price) proposal.
- The Proposal Engineer extracts key parameters from the client proposal and complements the information to create a sound proposal.
- The Proposal Engineer communicates with Process Engineers to define the processes involved in the proposal, as well as with Suppliers to obtain costing schemes for the proposal to be built.
- The main activities of the Proposal Engineer include the preliminary evaluation of proposals in terms of structural, thermal, and process analysis, the cost build-up of the proposal, and the standardization of processes within Compoxi.
- The Proposal Engineer will support the sales team occasionally in marketing activities or presence at shows / trades worldwide.

Responsibilities / nature of work
- CRM, account management & customer relations
Update CRM database when needed.
Produce quotes and proposals, manage internal supplier processes (quotation requests, supplier database updates).
Compile and apply for internal acquisition budgets.
Obtain quotations from potential suppliers.
Maintain operational figures / cost database.
Perform preliminary analysis of products to be included in proposals.
Perform preliminary design of tools, moulds, jigs, and other needs for proposals.
Coordinate with the Engineering Team for manufacturing definitions and risk point identification.
Team collaboration
Support the sales team in proposal build-up.
Collaborate with the engineering team to define strategies for each proposal.
Transfer necessary information from client specs to proposals.
Transfer information from proposals to engineering for project execution.
Consolidate information from engineering, client specs, operations, and supply chain into quotes and proposals.
Tasks

Update proposal status and follow up on CRM.

Participate in market-related events such as conferences, fairs, or shows.
Marketing activities
Perform preliminary product designs when needed.
Perform preliminary process engineering analyses when needed.
Support engineering team when needed.
Translate all information into written proposals and costing schemes.
Coordination and leadership
Authorizations / Powers
- Authorization to write complete proposals to clients.
Internal communication
- Present proposals and preliminary analyses to the Commercial Director.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers on project definition.
- Compile all necessary information for project planning and execution.
External communication
- Represent the company in front of clients, maintaining a positive image and communication.
- Write clear and understandable quotes for clients.
Skills and knowledge
- Education: minimum bachelors degree in a technical field.
- Experience: at least 1 year in industrial sales or related fields, preferably in the composite industry.
- Other: Knowledge of composite production methods and engineering. Proficient in English (written and spoken) and Spanish / Catalan; knowledge of French and German is a plus.
