Were expanding, and were looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team in Mlaga, Spain. You will play a key role in mechanical design for cutting-edge data centre projects, collaborating with an in-house multidisciplinary team of experts. As part of our internationally recognized team, your contributions will directly impact on the reliability, sustainability, and profitability of critical data infrastructure worldwide.
Your role
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading a team of mechanical engineers and supervise the project execution and delivery
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, clients, and other specialists, to ensure seamless project integration
- Managing and delivering mechanical work packages across multiple projects
- Writing technical specifications and reports to support project execution
- Assisting project managers with cost estimations and risk assessments
- Developing and maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring continuous technical development
- Evaluating proposals and providing recommendations for vendor selection
- Identifying the scope, design, and management objectives and delivering project documentation while ensuring the quality and flow of information required for contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities
- Reviewing contractor pre-qualifications and preparing tender evaluation summaries for tender reviews
- Liaising with Internal and External Stakeholders (clients) and ensuring exists a flowing and continuous communication on an ad-hoc and formal basis
- Representing Royal HaskoningDHV in factory acceptance tests and site commissioning activities
What you bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering for industrial building services or data centre projects
- Experience delivering project with 3D/BIM modeling tools such as Revit
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages such as Spanish/German/Dutch are a plus
- Flexibility to travel, as our clients are based in various locations nationally and internationally
- Ability to think strategically and formulate innovative plans and solutions. Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships and motivate others
