This position reports to the Global Operations Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
As our Procurement Engineering Manager, you will lead the interface between Procurement and R&D teams. You will drive procurement knowledge into the development process to optimize cost, quality, and technology. Additionally, you will translate R&D and Product Management requests into procurement parameters for execution. You will also lead the Supply Chain Controlling team to efficiently execute RFQ processes, maintain procurement master data, and manage supplier sustainability topics.
The work model for this role is primarily focused on:
- Leading procurement efforts for R&D projects, acting as the central interface between project teams, product management, and procurement divisions. Ensuring effective communication and alignment, and driving the Gate Model process including Make vs. Buy decisions.
- Managing supplier relationships with Category Managers, promoting early involvement of strategic suppliers, selecting prototype and production suppliers, and ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and time-to-market goals. Overseeing supplier sustainability compliance (e.g., Conflict Minerals, CBAM, EUDR).
- Estimating and achieving product cost and quality targets. Applying design-to-cost, manufacturability, lifecycle, and total cost of ownership analyses to optimize value chains and reduce costs during development, prototyping, and testing phases.
- Leading the Supply Chain Controlling Team, managing RFQ tools and processes, maintaining master data in SAP, and supporting strategic sourcing with RFQs, benchmarks, and analyses. Ensuring sourcing concepts are implemented in production transfers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''s or higher degree in Economics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic Sourcing Management or in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with product development experience.
- Result-oriented with excellent communication and analytical skills, and proven stakeholder management experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to reach optimal total cost of ownership.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are an advantage.
