Position Overview:
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory.
The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a weekly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Create a rolling 3-week Master Production Plan for designated products.
- Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, product availability, and new business opportunities.
- Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times.
- Schedule emailed to the plants weekly.
- Customer scheduling.
- Manage through supply shortages by creating pro-rate plans and substitution plans.
- Develop inventory targets and schedule production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis.
- Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability.
- Coordinate with plant schedulers to execute Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric ton production performance to the requested production schedule.
- Timely reporting of key metrics.
- Develop planning and scheduling tools which translate forecast demand (order book and opportunities) into production requirements.
- Develop a tool and process to identify and manage production capacity slots which are allocated to program management requirements, support delivery to milestones and inform impact to delivery dates where the production demand changes.
- Create and maintain the master production schedule for the company''s products.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs.
- Generate regular reports on order status, production progress, and inventory levels.
- Continuously strive to improve the efficiency of the scheduling process.
- Develop tools to understand production performance to inform continuous performance opportunities, production capacity slot planning, articulate impact of program changes on delivery to milestones and inform future programs on hours required to deliver product components.
Skills Required:
- Preferable Industrial or Chemical Engineer, Economics or Business Administration degree.
- 2-3 years of experience in similar role.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written & conversational).
- Knowledge of Power BI and high level of Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions and make decisions.
- Strong communication, influence and interpersonal skills including the ability to set up solid cross-functional partnerships.
