Summary of Job DutiesThe Decontamination Room Technician maintains and manages all equipment, supplies and instruments according to prescribed procedures and techniques, performing all or any combination of the decontamination and sterilization process, as requested. Performs a variety of technical skills that require independent judgment, with emphasis on planning and preparation. Assumes responsibility for knowledge of and adherence to approved unit/hospital policies and procedures. Decontaminates instrumentation in the Decontamination Room and prepare instrumentation for final sterilization process in central processing.Qualifications & Requirements1 year experience of Acute care preferredCertification as a Central Supply Processing Technician or Operating TechnicianCST certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent certificationKnowledge of aseptic techniqueMust possess Current American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Certification- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications and other databases
