As a senior engineer at Emburse, you’ll work on an agile development team to build and enhance features of the Enterprise product.ResponsibilitiesContribute to codebase for enterprise SaaS applications and servicesCommunicate complicated concepts to team members and leadershipTake personal responsibility for the quality and maintainability of the product and actively identify areas for improvementLeverage your knowledge in quality test practices to elevate the test practices across multiple teamsBe empathetic with the user of the software they are producing and uses that empathy to guide decision-makingIdentify viable alternative solutions and present themFollow SDLC process, including adopting agile-based processes/meetings, peer code-reviews, and technical preparations required for scheduled releasesMentor and guide developersFix complex bugs and demonstrate solid debugging skillsContribute to system design sessions for features and enhancementsAbility to perform and guide refactoringGive constructive feedback to team membersLearn industry jargon and business concepts to better understand the challenges our technology is designed to solve QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years’ experienceStrong proficiency in Java.Minimum of 4 years professional experience in Java developmentMinimum of 4 years professional Cloud Platform experience, preferably in AWSExperience working in OS X and Linux environments, Microservices, SQL, NoSQL, and GitExperience working in a scrum and DevOps environmentGood understanding of agile application development lifecycleExtensive understanding of various design patterns and OOP paradigmExtensive experience in RESTful and security of API designExperience Designing and building JSON or REST servicesExpert knowledge of JavaKnowledge in Javascript preferredExperience working with 3rd party APIs, AWS APIs, Docker or other containers, large-scale or distributed web applicationsExperience practicing Test Driven Development is highly preferred Why Emburse?Finance is changing—and at Emburse, we’re leading the way.
