Descartes is trusted by a panel ofA-rated (re)insurers to carry out its activities. ABOUT YOUR ROLEDescartes Underwriting is seeking an Operations Project Leader tojoin our Operations Team. You will report to the Head ofOperations, and you will be a key contributor of the deployment ofOperations teams projects. Our Operations Team underpins everyaspect of Descartes Underwriting and Descartes Insurance activity,ensuring that our business processes run smoothly and efficientlyfrom lead generation all the way to accounting flows and claimspayments. In an environment where the Salesforce platform plays acritical role in our daily operations, the Operations Project Teamimplements, maintains and runs business tools that help ourbusiness logic. You will be in close and effectivecooperation with all business units and play a vital role in thefollowing activities: Team Leadership and Development - Lead,mentor, and empower the Operations Project team : - Proactivelydevelop the skills and expertise of team members to enhance theirperformance and career growth, notably in project management anddeployment of best practices; - Foster a culture of continuousimprovement within the team, proactively identifying opportunitiesfor process optimization and innovation within the OperatingPlatform in collaboration with other departments to improve theoverall efficiency of the company. Strategic Planning and Roadmap -Develop a deep understanding of our users'' needs by engagingregularly with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Marketing,CIO office and Business Development teams, to improve process andworkflow integrations, specifically in operations solutions; -Contribute actively to defining the strategic direction of theOperating Platform, maintaining a comprehensive understanding ofthe interconnections between various tools in close collaborationwith the Product team; - Define and maintain the team''s roadmap,effectively managing priorities to align with business objectives,encompassing both project initiatives and ongoing operational tasks(run) in close collaboration with the Product team. StakeholderManagement and Communication - Ensure seamless and proactivecommunication with both internal users and the technicaldevelopment team (DSD); - Coordinate effectively withcross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project alignmentand successful outcomes; - Ensure clear and consistentcommunication of the team''s progress, both internally within theteam and externally to relevant stakeholders. Project Execution andGuidance - Provide guidance and oversight for the planning,execution, and monitoring of all projects within your team''s scope;- Champion the delivery of high-quality projects within agreedscope, ensuring alignment with business goals; - Ensure adherenceto data governance policies and promote data quality standardswithin operational projects; - Build and manage a pool of externalconsultants, ensuring their effective integration to provideflexibility and specialized expertise as needed. ABOUT YOUEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - Completed a masters degree froma leading Engineering school or Business school with aspecialization in Data Analytics or/and Engineering sciences or/andRisk management or/and operations; - 5-10+ years experience in asimilar position (technology or IT environment) or in a consultingposition in a fast-paced environment; - Experience managingprojects with multiple stakeholders and fostering alignment; -Previous experience in insurance is valued but not mandatory.SKILLS - Good interpersonal skills & ability to work with
