About the role: As part of strengthening our Tax department in our EMEA HQ in Mechelen, we are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Manager reporting directly to the CFO. The candidate will have the potential to advance to a Tax Director role, as part of the planned retirement of the current Tax Director. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will report directly to the CFO and have the potential to advance to a Tax Director role. Initially, you will focus on indirect tax responsibilities, including supporting indirect tax-related projects such as supply chain optimizations and E-invoicing projects in compliance with EU ViDA regulations. What youll do: Lead and manage indirect tax projects, including supply chain optimizations and E-invoicing initiatives. Provide expert guidance on tax matters to various business units within the organization. Support and manage tax audits, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure the organizations compliance with new regulations. Oversee and ensure compliance with tax filing requirements. Monitor and disseminate relevant tax compliance-related information to key stakeholders. Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the companys tax position. Mentor and develop finance team members from a tax perspective. Work on tax optimization and digitalization initiatives to enhance tax processing efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax-related insights and support business decisions. Support the organization in designing and maintaining appropriate tax-related process controls. Manage tax-related risks. What youll need: Must have 12-15 years of experience in tax management within an international context. Extensive experience in indirect tax management within larger corporations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals. International experience and technical expertise in tax matters. Proven experience working with large international groups with diverse business models and business units. Knowledge of EU ViDA regulations and compliance requirements. Experience in managing tax audits and providing expert guidance. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead tax projects and project teams including external partners. Nice to have Conceptual understanding of EU ViDA regulations and their application to indirect tax processes. Experience in supply chain optimization and E-invoicing projects. Familiarity with tax technology and software solutions. Familiarity with S4HANA. Advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Project management certifications or equivalent through experience. Other professional tax qualifications.
