As part of this sector task force, you will collaborate with global companies, applying your technical expertise, consulting skills, and industry knowledge to solve complex problems.The PositionEY supports network companies, governments, and regulators through specialized studies, data analysis, and the development of innovative planning tools and services.We are seeking a full-time Power Systems Engineer to join EYs Digital Grid Team, focusing on delivering power systems and energy-related projects in areas such as network modeling, DER integration, network flow/topology optimization, and planning and operation of distribution and transmission networks.This role is ideal for an experienced power systems engineer eager to develop automation tools and processes supporting the planning, operations, and optimization of future networks.ResponsibilitiesAssist electricity system/network operators with planning and operation of the electricity grid.Possess a technical understanding of power systems and electrical components.Conduct power & energy network modeling and analysis, including load flow, fault level analysis, dynamic studies, and capacitor placement.Apply operational and long-term electrical/grid forecasting methods and tools.Ensure grid security and reliability from voltage, thermal, and stability perspectives.Coordinate and engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality projects.Manage daily project activities and coordinate with the onsite EY team.Approach work proactively and systematically.RequirementsEssential qualifications and skills include:Excellent communication skills to convey complex issues clearly and professionally.At least 4 years of relevant industry experience in the energy sector.Degree in Power Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering with relevant modules.Experience in load flow studies, contingency analysis, fault level, stability, and harmonics studies.Experience assessing the impact of Distributed Energy Resources on distribution networks.Knowledge of grid system security and reliability.Experience developing network models for steady-state and dynamic assessments.Familiarity with sector-standard tools such as PSS SINCAL, PSS/E, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Engagement skills to build long-term client relationships.Motivation to work on complex energy networks and contribute to the green energy transition.Experience with offline and online planning and operational tools like DIgSILENT, DERMS, ADMS, EMS.Knowledge of coding in DIgSILENT Programming Language or Python.Experience in transient stability studies.Experience working with GIS systems and network modeling from GIS databases.Experience with Python API integration for analysis tools.Additional language skills are a plus.Good understanding of Power Systems and Whole System Energy Networks, including Gas and Hydrogen.Commercial awareness and proactive business development skills.LocationEuropeWhy Should You Apply?Join a reputable consultancy with a history of excellence in Power System analysis.Work on innovative projects and develop skills in data science.Enjoy professional and personal growth opportunities.Be part of a vibrant team dedicated to enabling the energy transition.Support for professional qualifications such as chartership.Paid subscriptions to IEEE or IET.Competitive salary based on experience.EY is committed to building a better working world by creating value for clients, people, society, and the planet.
