Your role We are seeking a highlyskilled and experienced external consultant to provide expertguidance and hands-on support in optimizing our ServiceNowConfiguration Management Database (CMDB) leveraging ITOMVisibility. This critical project aims to enhance our IT servicemanagement processes, improve operational efficiency, and provide areliable foundation for informed decision-making across theorganization. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge ofServiceNow CMDB best practices, extensive experience with ITOMVisibility implementation and configuration, and a proven trackrecord of delivering successful outcomes. Your responsibilitiesDiscovery Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders todefine the discovery strategy, scope, and data sources to beintegrated into the ServiceNow CMDB. Discovery SourceConfiguration: Design and configure CMDB modules and workflows tosupport IT operations and service management. Lead theconfiguration and troubleshooting of ServiceNow Discovery toconnect with various on-premises and cloud data sources, includingbut not limited to Windows and Linux servers Kubernetes clustersDatabases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) Network appliances(e.g., Cisco, Juniper) Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)Integration Management: Plan and execute the integration ofdifferent discovery sources, ensuring efficient and reliable datacollection, and design the integration strategy for the CI/CDpipeline. CMDB Data Model Alignment: Ensure the discovered dataaligns with the defined CMDB data model and make recommendationsfor necessary extensions or modifications. Discovery datavalidation and reconciliation: Develop and implement datareconciliation processes to minimize discrepancies and maintaindata accuracy, and ensure the accuracy and reliability ofconfiguration items (CIS) within the CMDB. Health and PerformanceMonitoring: Implement mechanisms to monitor the health,completeness, and performance of the discovery processes and theresulting CMDB data. Documentation: Create comprehensivedocumentation, including discovery source configurations,integration guides, and data validation procedures. Your profileand skills Proven experience (3-5 years) working with ServiceNowDiscovery and CMDB Proven experience in successfully establishingand developing a ServiceNow CMDB in a complex enterpriseenvironment Proven experience in configuring and troubleshootingServiceNow Discovery for diverse on-premises and cloud environmentsDeep understanding of CMDB foundational concepts and data modellingprinciples Strong understanding of ITIL processes, specificallyaround Configuration Management and Change Management Technicalknowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities, including formbuilding, dashboard creation, and reporting Hands-on experienceintegrating various data sources with ServiceNow Discovery usingdifferent methods and protocols Experience in integrating CI/CDtools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) with ServiceNowFamiliarity with scripting languages relevant to CI/CD tools andServiceNow (e.g., Python, Shell scripting, JavaScript) Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills Ability to workindependently and as part of a team ServiceNow certification ishighly desirable Are you a ServiceNow wizard ready to take yourcareer to the next level?
