About the job:
Lead and manage the legal department, providing strategic legal advice to senior management and business units.
Oversee all legal matters related to corporate lending, structured finance, capital markets, and cross-border transactions.
Ensure compliance with Swiss, EU, and international banking regulations and legal frameworks.
Develop and implement internal legal policies and risk mitigation strategies.
Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
Support product development, transactional negotiations, and contract management.
Represent the bank in legal proceedings and manage external legal providers.
About the candidate:
Swiss or EU qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in corporate banking or financial services.
Proven track record in a senior legal role within a regulated financial institution or top-tier law firm.
Deep understanding of Swiss banking law, financial regulation, and corporate governance.
Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) is essential.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage complexity, lead through change, and operate with discretion and integrity.
