PURPOSE AND OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
The Manager Government Affairs will support the Global Government & Community Affairs team on key strategic and advocacy initiatives in Germany and Europe to help reach adidas’ mid and long-term performance ambitions. The role will manage relations with government representatives and industry associations for adidas in Germany and Europe, provide relevant public policy analysis, and contribute to the implementation and continuous development of the Global Government Affairs strategy.

The Global Government & Community Affairs team members are leading the company’s engagement with government stakeholders and are focused on building trusted relationships, monitoring and informing about policy developments, influencing policy-making, and building adidas’ reputation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Global Government & Community Affairs department on key strategic and advocacy initiatives in Germany and Europe to help reach adidas’ mid and long-term performance ambitions.
- Establish and manage relations with government stakeholders in Germany and Europe
- Help identifying, monitoring, and analyzing relevant policy areas including trade and market access policy; intellectual property protection as well as product compliance.
- Understand the organization’s current and future business objectives/-priorities on a timely basis as to how policy developments might affect adidas.
- Support in developing and executing advocacy strategies on policy priorities.
- Execute internal and external research, provide tangible analysis to develop readily intelligible output to support the company’s advocacy efforts.
- Organize and prepare meetings with stakeholders.
- Prepare briefings, guidance and support on critical policy developments and to relevant internal business partners.
- Represent adidas at selected working groups and committees of relevant trade associations.
- Continuously expand and upgrade knowledge and skills by utilizing resources such as reading materials, and attending training workshops.
- Enhance day-to-day processes and suggest solutions, develop, and enhance Government Affairs tools (SharePoint, forms, policies etc.), share best practices
- Lead small-scale internal initiatives (e.g. policy development process updates, framework updates, recruitment).

HAUPTVERANTWORTLICHKEITEN
- Unterstützung der Abteilung Global Government & Community Affairs bei zentralen strategischen Initiativen und Advocacy-Aktivitäten in Deutschland und Europa zur Erreichung der mittel- und langfristigen Unternehmensziele von adidas.
- Aufbau und Pflege von Beziehungen zu politischen Stakeholdern in Deutschland und Europa.
- Mitarbeit bei der Identifikation, Beobachtung und Analyse relevanter Politikfelder, einschließlich Handels- und Marktzugangspolitik, Schutz geistigen Eigentums sowie Product Compliance.
- Verständnis der aktuellen und zukünftigen Unternehmensziele und -prioritäten, um die Auswirkungen politischer Entwicklungen auf adidas bewerten zu können.
- Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung und Umsetzung von Advocacy-Strategien zu prioritären politischen Themen.
- Durchführung interner und externer Recherchen sowie Erstellung fundierter Analysen zur Entwicklung klar verständlicher Entscheidungsgrundlagen für die Interessenvertretung des Unternehmens.
- Organisation und Vorbereitung von Meetings mit Stakeholdern.
- Erstellung von Briefings, Handlungsempfehlungen und Unterstützung zu kritischen politischen Entwicklungen für relevante interne Geschäftspartner.
- Vertretrung von adidas in ausgewählten Arbeitsgruppen und Gremien relevanter Branchenverbände.
