We are currently seeking a dedicated Registrar to join our team at Falmouth Hospital.**SUMMARY**:Schedules multiple locations, and services.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.**Must be courteous to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Collects co-pays when necessary.Identifies and verifies existing insurance.Counsels patients, financially.Interacts with case managers for admission/service appropriateness.Bed placement.Obtains required signatures and authorizations.Obtains/issues Advance Beneficiary Notices.Interacts with Department Managers/Supervisors, Physicians, Nursing and Nursing Management.Obtains patient consents for service and billing authorization.Presents patient with information on Advance Directives (Healthcare Proxy)Produces and distributes necessary paperwork.Obtains all required approvals and reference numbers according to policy (insurance specific).Notifies and obtains signatures for patients rights.Ensures accuracy of demographic patient information obtained.**QUALIFICATIONS **To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Type at a minimum of 30 wpm. Completed Medical Terminology Course or equivalent experience.**LANGUAGE SKILLS**Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10''s and 100''s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.**REASONING ABILITY**Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
