The Central Quality and Food Safety Director isresponsible for establishing and overseeing global quality and foodsafety standards within the bakery business. This role ensurescompliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, andindustry best practices across all regions. The role requiresstrategic leadership to drive continuous improvement in food safetyculture, quality systems, and risk management across the company''soperations and supply chain. The BU Frozen Quality and Food SafetyDirector must serve as the leading ambassador of the operationaland supply chain excellence strategy and roadmap, ensuring thatquality and food safety aspects are well-defined and seamlesslyintegrated with other elements of the overall product leadershipstrategy enabling and supporting the broader business objectives.Quality and Food Safety strategy: Define and implement a Qualityand Food Safety strategy aligned with the overall ProductLeadership strategy and related business goals. Develop andmaintain a robust Quality and Food Safety Management System withclear global policies and standards across all production sites andthe supply chain, including supplier quality assurance programs,ensuring compliance with raw material and packaging specifications.Ensure compliance with international food safety regulations andstandards (e.g. IFS, BRCGS, FSSC22000, FSMA, AIB,...) Lead crisismanagement and response for escalated quality and food safetyincidents, ensuring timely and effective mitigation and resolution.Monitor and analyze overall quality and food safety performancemetrics and conduct regular risk assessments and audits to drivecontinuous improvements supported by the OPEX tools and principles.Champion a quality and food safety culture across all levels of theorganization supported by the relevant and effective training anddevelopment programs. Support future business developments as newproduct and process development, investment projects, and mergerand acquisition activities, by embedding and managing relevantquality and food safety standards from the early phases of theprojects. Lead a team of regional quality and food safetyprofessionals and ensuring a smooth and effective collaborationwith the local quality teams. Foster collaboration withcross-functional teams, including R&D, Supply Chain,Operations, and Commercial teams. Establish strong partnershipswith key customers and regulatory agencies to maintain transparencyand trust. The BU Frozen quality and food safety director rolereports directly to the VP of Operations and is an integral part ofthe operations and supply chain leadership team. This role is idealfor a passionate leader in quality and food safety management, whowants to lead initiatives that enhance quality and food safetystandards based on their criticality and business relevance in afast growing and entrepreneurial organization. Education: Master''sdegree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a relatedfield. Experience:10+ years of experience in food quality andsafety roles within a global food manufacturing business. Expertisein food microbiology, allergen management, sanitation, andtraceability systems. Strong understanding of global food safetyand quality regulations (e.g., IFS, BRCGS, FSSC22000, FSMA,AIB,...) Leadership:Proven track record in leadingcross-functional and regional teams and driving change at anorganizational level. Language Proficiency:Proficient in English,additional languages are a plus. Travel Requirements:Willingnessto travel (30%-50% of the time) as needed to support operationsglobally. Managing vision and strategy:Ability to set long-termvision and drive organization-wide quality and food safetyimprovements that align with business objectives and needs.Leadership & change management:Proven capability to inspireand lead teams through change, fostering a shared vision andensuring accountability for results. Strong ability to engage,interact and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, includingsenior executives, suppliers, and regulators. Problem-Solving andrisk management:Expertise in identifying, assessing, andmitigating food safety and quality risks. Analytical and decisivethinker who can diagnose issues and implement effective solutionsand simple processes within the operational and entrepreneuriallandscape.
