Who were looking for ?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Legal Counsel to join BPIs legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law, along with knowledge or interest in mergers and acquisitions, tax law, urban planning law and/or public private partnership.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely together with colleagues from other department as development, sales, project management, financial, insurance, etc.. But also external partners as notarys offices and law firms.
Your Responsibilities:
- You prepare legal documentation related to real estate projects in Belgium and in Luxembourg.
- You provide practical and clear legal advice on real estate matters.
- You identify project-related risks.
- You stay informed about relevant legal development and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and with CFEs policies.
- You draft and negotiate contracts with various stakeholders (letters of intent, purchase/sale agreements, rights in rem (building right, long lease right, etc.), commercial contracts, project finance documentation, building contracts, lease agreements, public procurement contracts, partnership agreements, shareholders agreements, etc.).
- You provide support for project (re)structuring (incorporation of project companies, co-ownership structure, rights in rem, tax matters, etc.).
- You provide support with the subscription of insurances related to the real estate projects.
- You participate in various internal meetings (with colleagues from other department) and external meetings (with partners, lawyers, buyers, notaries, etc.).
- You provide support in case of legal disputes (in collaboration with law firms).
- You are accountable for working independently and taking responsibility, while actively contributing to team knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Your skills and experience:
- You have a Master degree in law from an accredited Belgian university.
- You have minimum 8 years of professional experience (including an experience as a lawyer) in real estate law.
- You have experience in real estate law, along with knowledge or interest in mergers and acquisitions, tax law, urban planning law and/or public private partnership.
- You are proactive, pragmatic, open-minded and solution-minded.
- You are flexible in the performance of your tasks.
- You have verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- You like to work in a team and enjoy sharing knowledge while being able to work independently and take responsibilities.
- You have strong analytical skills and pragmatic business approach.
- You are fluent in French, Dutch and English.
