We are looking for a talented Strategic Procurement Manager to join our team in Saint-Blaise and contribute to the industrialization and production of our atomic clock products.

Responsibilities
- Define commodity strategies, preferred/strategic suppliers and supplier strategies.
- Negotiate Volume Purchase Agreements (VPAs), long term Price Books and step pricing.
- Drive cost reduction, price and contract negotiation and Component/Supplier Selection Process for electronic components together with Global Component Engineering (GCE) and the different R&D sites.
- Negotiate best logistics (lead time, VMI or buffer stocks) and quality T&Cs in line with the requirements of ADTRAN and our CMs.
- Build relationships with key decision makers of our suppliers.
- Install an early warning system about potential material shortages, increases in lead time and allocation situations.
- Close cooperation with different R&D sites globally.
- Participate in Product Development Projects to assure components with best cost/performance ratio are selected and availability for pre-release and series production is guaranteed.
- Drive component and supplier rationalization.
- Support Product Line Management in driving costs reductions (Design-to-cost/manufacturability/test/innovation and material cost reduction).
- Manage escalations in case of material shortages or allocation.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Engineering degree in mechanics/micromechanics, electrical engineering, industrial production, or equivalent qualification.
- Some years of experience with the manufacturing of technology products, covering New Product Introduction.
- Ability to evolve in a fast-paced growth, innovative engineering environment.
- Experience with process development, industrialization and production control methodologies & design for manufacturing best practices.
- Knowledge in machining techniques, assembly of mechanical precision systems, test engineering, material and vacuum technologies.
- Demonstrated competency in delivering industrialized solutions for high precision products, at ease with interactions involving internal and external stakeholders.
- ERP (SAP) user proficiency.
- Excellent attention to detail and self-motivation to deliver work to required quality standards.
- Practically minded and hands-on, ability to multitask, plan, coordinate and manage time.
- Strong interest in continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Adept at teamwork, excellent communication skills and ability to take initiative.
- Able to communicate in English at level B1 an advantage.
