About the role:
Angove Partners is working with a leading international Insurance Brokerage to recruit a Senior Compliance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with strong knowledge of EU insurance regulation to join a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role involves close collaboration with compliance teams, business stakeholders, and regulators to ensure a consistent and robust compliance framework aligned with European insurance regulations. The position offers flexibility in location and hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation of the European Compliance Plan and regulatory framework.
- Monitoring changes in European regulatory environments and coordinating timely updates.
- Identifying and mitigating compliance risks in partnership with first and second-line functions.
- Providing regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders and addressing compliance queries.
- Managing regulatory reporting obligations and ensuring timely, accurate filings.
- Supporting compliance monitoring activities and addressing emerging issues.
- Coordinating responses to regulatory audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Assisting in developing and delivering training programs, including inductions.
- Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining policies and procedures to align with EU insurance regulations.
- Ensuring policies are applied consistently across all relevant European entities.
About you:
- Experience in applying European insurance regulatory requirements and designing systems to ensure compliance.
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and other EU regulatory frameworks applicable to insurance intermediaries.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements across multiple EU jurisdictions.
- University degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in compliance, risk, or insurance preferred.
- Minimum 3 years'' experience in compliance, legal, or risk roles.
- Fluent in English; additional fluency in French, German or Italian is a plus.
