UNDP also serves as the knowledge frontier organization for sustainable development within the UN Development System, supporting collective action to realize the SDGs through its Global Policy Network (GPN).Job DescriptionThe UNDP Rome Centre for Climate and Energy focuses on climate finance, youth engagement in climate action, and energy for development, supporting initiatives like PISTA, Youth4Climate, and Energy For Growth. The role involves supporting project development, evaluation, implementation, and stakeholder engagement related to climate finance and sustainable energy projects, primarily in African countries.ResponsibilitiesThe analyst will support project scoping, design, and implementation; facilitate knowledge sharing; manage donor relations; and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities. The role requires collaboration with country teams, global thematic leads, and external partners, including financiers and government entities.QualificationsA master''s degree in Economics, Finance, International Development, Engineering, or related fields is required, with additional experience considered in lieu of formal education. Fluency in English is mandatory, with French as an asset. Proven experience in climate finance, project advisory, and working with emerging economies, particularly in Africa, is essential. Knowledge of green bonds, climate adaptation, and related standards is highly desirable.CompetenciesCore competencies include results-oriented planning, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, partnership engagement, and diversity appreciation.
