Our research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behaviour of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 comprises 19 Research Groups, 7 Technical Development and Support Units and Facilities, and 2 Research Platforms, covering different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Job Title : Accounting Officer
Main Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Bank transaction posting and reconciliation
- Clearing account monitoring and discrepancy resolution
- Visa process oversight and compliance
- Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
- Tax compliance :
- Preparation for external tax filings
- Upkeep of tax records
- VAT ledger review and reconciliation
- Payroll accounting entries
- New hire approvals (payroll / HRIS setup)
- Headcount budget tracking and control
- Audit support, financial reporting, and period-end closing
Requirements :
Education : Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar
Knowledge :
- Accounting knowledge : General Accounting Plan, KPIs, Balance Sheet, P&L, Regional Accounting Standards (CCAA), etc.
- English : Ability to communicate in English is essential.
- Advanced Office skills : Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Preferred : Knowledge of Power BI.
- Preferred : Knowledge of SAP BO.
Professional Experience :
- At least 2 years performing tasks relevant to the position.
- Previous experience in Catalan research centers will be valued.
- Advanced accounting knowledge will be valued.
- Proactive, analytical, and highly organized.
- A team player with strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Able to present financial reports clearly and escalate issues effectively when needed.
Summary of Conditions :
- Full time work (37.5h / week)
- Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
