Fort Wayne Orthopedics, L.L.C.**JOB TITLE**: Receptionist**MAIN FUNCTION**: Assist with front desk operations within the office practice area. Provide outstanding customer service to all visitors.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:Greet and assist patients and visitors promptly upon their arrival. Provide excellent customer service to all patients and visitors.Verify appointment, demographic information, and insurance information with patients.Register new patients into the computer system including demographics and other relevant information. Obtain all information needed to create a chart and establish an account. Provide HIPAA privacy notices and obtain required signatures as needed.Verify insurance information. Scan insurance cards and attach to the patients account as needed.Obtain workcomp/liability information if applicable and all necessary signatures.Run cost estimates. Collect and post payments to patient accounts after patient visits.Schedule the next appointment as directed by the physician.Balance cash drawer at the end of the day. Forward all payments to Accounting.**Reports to**: Reception Manager**Required Education**: High school diploma or GED equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.Experience**Required**: Prior front office experience in a medical practice setting preferred.Knowledge,Skills & Abilities**Required**: Knowledge of front office procedures. Basic knowledge of medical software systems. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Basic keyboarding skills. Ability to maintain professional composure during stressful situations. Superior communication abilities. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.**Location**: Based at 7601 W. Jefferson Blvd., but will float to cover clinic locations**Hours**: Part-time, typically 3 days per week, clinic hours with occasional late or early coverage as needed, Non-Exempt
