CREDIT ANALYST
As part of the Credit team, you will be responsible for evaluating the financial health of potential and existing clients to assess creditworthiness and mitigate risk in leasing transactions. This role involves analysing financial statements, reviewing credit reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assess credit applications mainly for businesses, for leasing agreements.
- Analyse financial statements, credit scores, employment histories, and income sources of individual applicants.
- Conduct risk assessments for both commercial and consumer leases, evaluating credit history, debt-to-income ratios, and overall financial stability.
- Recommend credit approvals, modifications, or denials based on financial analysis and company risk appetite.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to explain credit decisions and provide alternative solutions when needed.
- Monitor existing lease portfolios for both corporate and private clients to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with consumer credit laws (e.g., FCRA, GDPR, or relevant local regulations) and corporate credit policies.
- Prepare detailed credit reports and risk assessments for senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit decisions for both business and individual clients.
- Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager.
We expect from you:
- Education: Bachelor''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or risk assessment (preferably in leasing, banking, or financial services).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and credit risk assessment.
- Knowledge of leasing industry practices and credit evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with credit rating tools, financial software, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Maintaining a positive and empathetic attitude, especially under pressure.
- Keeping the end-users of financial services (e.g., dealerships, car buyers) in mind.
Language knowledge :
- Dutch: European language grid level C1 minimum
- French: European language grid level C1 minimum
- English: European language grid ideally level B2 and above
