Role Overview:
Optimus Search has partnered with a leading financial services firm based in Bern. As a Data Science Team Lead, you will be responsible for guiding a small team to drive forward innovative approaches in analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless cross-functional integration
- Lead a small team, overseeing both technical and personnel aspects in the field of Data Science
- Strengthen the firm''s data science capabilities by establishing best practices and continuously evolving the discipline
- Serve as a coach and mentor for more junior Data Scientists in a team that is central to the firm''s data science framework
- Coordinate with various internal stakeholders in IT architecture, cybersecurity, and related areas to expand and optimise the technology landscape supporting data science
- Maintain active dialogue with internal and external partners to identify key trends and innovations, translating them into actionable insights for the firm
Requirements:
- Degree (Uni/FH) in computer science or IT
- Over 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a specific focus on data science
- Strong programming skills in Python, complemented by experience working with Azure and Power BI
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design
- Theoretical problem-solving approach and eager to get stuck in and hands on
- Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
- Prior leadership and mentorship experience
- Native or C2 German skills, with fluency in English too. Other languages, such as French, would be a benefit
