Senior Renewables Power Trader CGS is excited to offer an exclusive opportunity to lead the trading strategy for a dynamic Independent Power Producer (IPP) driving renewable energy transformation in Southern Europe. Our client, a pioneer in the solar PV and Wind sector, operates across Spain, Portugal, and Italy, actively developing projects that make a meaningful environmental and social impact. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a Senior Renewables Power Trader to oversee and optimize short-term power trading and asset balancing activities, with a particular focus on the Iberian and broader Southern European / CWE markets. This is a high-impact role for a commercially driven trader with proven experience in maximizing value from renewable portfolios in Iberia and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Lead short-term power trading and renewable asset balancing (solar/wind) in Spain and across Southern Europe (Portugal, Italy), with the ability to support CWE expansion when applicable. Monitor and optimize intraday and day-ahead trading strategies to maximize profitability while managing risk exposure. Support the build-out of internal trading capabilities, processes, and systems to scale the trading desk alongside asset growth. Identify market opportunities and contribute to the overall trading strategy and business development efforts. Required Qualifications Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in short-term power trading or balancing renewable assets in Spain. Exposure to other markets in Iberia, Southern Europe (Portugal/Italy), and/or CWE is highly preferred. Proficient in market analysis tools and platforms; Python or similar programming skills a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to operate in cross-functional and multicultural teams. Language Location Requirements: Fluent in English and Spanish (both spoken and written). Additional European languages (e.G., Portuguese, Italian, French, German) are an asset. Must be eligible to live and work in Spain and willing to be based on-site (hybrid models considered).
