The Federal Public Service (FPS) Finances invests in digital progress, from cybersecurity to complex development projects and network improvements. We develop applications that make life easier for citizens and businesses, such as tools for tax declarations, customs formalities and fund management.
Through Egov Select, you will join the dynamic technological environment of the FPS Finances, where you will be able to use your technical skills and your practical sense. Our ICT department carries out projects that support the various departments and manages the IT infrastructure, including more than 850 databases. We ensure smooth operations by providing support to both internal and external users. In short, we form the backbone of digital services within the FPS Finances, always focused on quality and efficiency.
This position is critical to ensure smooth operations and effective troubleshooting within our development teams. Additionally, a key aspect of this role is the knowledge transfer to our junior DevSecOps team members, ensuring they are equipped to manage and resolve similar issues independently in the future.
Key responsibilities
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution support for issues related to GitLab, ArgoCD, Vault, Kubernetes and Artifactory. Collaborate closely with development teams to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Knowledge Transfer: Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions and documentation to junior DevSecOps team members. This will involve hands-on demonstrations, technical walkthroughs, and the creation of reference materials to facilitate long-term knowledge retention and independence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various development teams, understanding their workflows and processes to provide tailored support that aligns with their specific needs and challenges.
- Best Practices Implementation: Advise on and implement best practices for continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC) using the mentioned tools. Ensure that these practices are documented and communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date documentation on troubleshooting processes, configurations, and solutions related to GitLab, ArgoCD, Vault, and Artifactory. Ensure this documentation is easily accessible to all team members.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze existing configurations and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implement optimizations to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of the development environment.
Profile description
- You have a bachelor or Master Degree in IT or equivalent through experience
- You show at least 2 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps engineering role, with significant exposure to GitLab, ArgoCD, Vault, Kubernetes and Artifactory.
- You have a proven expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues within CI/CD pipelines, Version Control systems, and artifact management solutions.
- You show a strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Ansible knowledge is considered as an asset
- Basic Java knowledge is needed
- You show expertise in DevOps tools and practices, with a strong focus on GitLab, ArgoCD, Vault, Kubernetes and Artifact
- You have a proven experience in Training & Mentorship: Experience in mentoring and training junior engineers, with a focus on knowledge transfer and capacity building.
- You have Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- You show strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact the development process.
- You are French or Dutch speaking and have an excellent knowledge of English.
