Engineering Coordinator
Knowledge / Prerequisites
- Extensive experience in the yachting or maritime industry, with a strong background in complex refits or new-build projects
- Solid understanding of at least two of the following fields: systems, electrical and mechanical engineering, metal work painting, carpentry, composites, HVAC, AVIT, plumbing and their integration within yacht construction and refits.
- Familiarity with Class and Flag approval processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ability to read, interpret, and critically assess technical drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following fields: mechanics, electricity, marine piping systems, sustainable marine propulsion and energy systems
- Languages:
- English fluent
- French
- Other (additional strength)
- Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively across multicultural teams.
- Computer skills:
- Microsoft Suite
- Gantt planning
- Auto-cad basics
Main tasks to perform
- Align and integrate technical information across all the stakeholders involved in the project engineering (Architects, Designers, Engineers, Subcontractors, Class and Flag, and Project Managers).
- Manages the elaboration of technical scopes, interfacing between the different stakeholders mentioned above.
- Tracks the engineering allocated scopes progress to meet deadlines.
- Manages the resolution of technical issues. Defines corrective actions, and reports to superiors.
- Centralises the projects documentation (drawings, reports, processes...) and manages the approval.
- Selects, discusses and clarifies the subcontractors scopes, in particular the technical aspect of the subcontractors scopes.
- Represents the company and protects its interests towards third parties (customers, suppliers), presents a positive, can do, happy image of the company.
- Ensures all rules and processes are applied (HSE rules, signed quotes, administrative processes, contracts, etc...)
- Makes sure performed works (by the company or subcontractors) are of yachting quality
- Proposes to superiors improvements to existing procedures.
- Ensures customers satisfaction and participates in developing long-term business relationships.
- Assists project managers during the execution phase with technical support.
- Contributes to helping others and train other people in the team.
