Responsible for leading EHS Field Safety for name of the country, ensuring legal compliance and adherence to PPG Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security procedures, standards, and processes. Establishes ongoing assessments of the EHS Management System to ensure compliance with local legislation and PPG EHS requirements.Responsible for coordinating responsibilities across different Business Units within the country and establishing networking opportunities with the EHS country manager.The role requires flexibility to travel within the country.Key ResponsibilitiesImplements EHS Field Safety strategy by developing local plans aligned with operational leadership and corporate/regional guidelines; provides feedback to ensure strategy sustainability.Ensures timely and complete risk assessments and supports risk reduction initiatives.Drives a safety culture (Drive to Zero) among field employees and those at customer sites and remote locations.Ensures accidents are reported, deviations analyzed, and corrective actions implemented.Promotes reporting of near misses and ensures corrective actions are taken for high-severity incidents.Manages the EHS country budget for field safety activities.Identifies training needs and ensures effective rollout in partnership with the business.Maintains regular communication and engagement with business leaders and stakeholders.Acts as the EHS representative for regulatory and customer obligations.Supports integration of newly acquired businesses.Promotes corporate initiatives like Wellness and Ergo Cup.Impact/Scope of ResponsibilityImplements policies to ensure awareness and compliance with EHS requirements.Provides technical leadership to enforce health standards.Ensures quality control procedures are followed to monitor regulations.Coordinates safety audits to identify and control exposure risks.Influences employees and leadership; may act as a technical expert.ComplexityOperates independently at low to moderate complexity and risk locations.Supports EHS strategy development and implementation to meet business and regulatory needs.InnovationRecommends process and design improvements to minimize EHS impact.Develops solutions for moderate problems, referring to policies and practices.Exercises judgment in low to moderate ambiguity situations.Investigates incidents and hazards, prepares regulatory reports.CommunicationsEngages regularly with plant employees and leadership.Develops and conducts training and emergency programs.Provides regulatory and technical advice.Discretion & LatitudeWorks under general direction; work is reviewed for judgment, adequacy, and accuracy.Education & Technical KnowledgeBachelors or advanced degree in EHS, chemistry, engineering, or related field, with relevant experience; or relevant EHS qualification with 5 years of experience.Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.Behaviors ExpectedMeets deadlines and informs relevant parties of deviations.Participates in regional reviews and completes reports timely.Reviews incident data regularly and participates in country reviews.Completes performance reviews and manages expenses as scheduled.#J-18808-Ljbffr
