House of Shipping's commitment to their customers begins with developing an understanding of their business fundamentals.Currently we are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global container liner company, for the position of Senior Operations Executive - Barcelona, Spain.Department: OperationsDesignation: Senior Executive Operations (On Site)Location: Barcelona, SpainYears of exp: 10 to 15 YearsIndustry: Container ShippingReporting Designation: Operations ManagerMain tasks and responsibilities: Vessel OperationsResponsible for informing of the planned operational schedule changes, providing all related documents and the necessary support to the vessel and its crew Prepare CallCheck and share berthing window/prospects and actual schedules with Lines/StakeholdersIf the berthing window is not respected, (re-) negotiate the berthing schedule with the terminalOrder gangs/cranes and communicate call sequenceDeclare port vessel clearanceOrder and coordinate husbandry / stevedoring services Vessel OperationsOrder and monitor supply and other services (e.G. cash to master, sludge) Follow Vessel OperationsProvide cargo documentation to the vesselFollow, order coordinate services (husbandry stevedoring incl. mooring bunkering departure)Generate Reports according to deadlinesManage monitor terminal servicesCoordinate vessel sailingAlert Regional Ops, Lines, and Berthing Manager if any incidentMonitor report procurement of terminal services and husbandryMonitor report ongoing operations productivityMonitor Waiting time, Idle time, and productivity and focus on continuous improvements.Cargo follow-up: Manage special events (holds, customs inspection, damages, malfunctioning reefers, COD)Produce discharge lists / load listProvide hazardous data to local authorities (import, transit, and export cargo)Coordinate POL loadings with dedicated teams, upload partner load lists, and inform Cargo Flow for prechecks (for provisional and final load lists)Follow-up loading instructionsCrosscheck DG manifestPrepare provide special cargo documentation to husbandry or partnerProduce provisional final load list to ship manager or partner (inform Cargo Flow)Produce load lists to the terminalCompare pre-stow with load listFollow-up cargo operations and manage the shortfallSend cargo summaries to customs authorities.Post-Sailing Activities: Investigate discrepancies between Port Completion Report and invoices received from cost controllocal/auxiliary taskReporting TeamReporting Designation: Operations ManagerReporting Department: OperationsEducational qualifications preferredDegree: Bachelor's degreeRequired work experienceIndustry: Container Shipping IndustryYears of experience: 10 -15 yearsRequired Competencies:Experience in Port Community Services (PCS)Required Knowledge:Port Process, Documentation, TTN tool handlingMS Office Applications and ability to prepare reports.Knowledge of geography and port operations.English knowledgeRequired Skills:Excellent communication, written and verbal.Team Player, strong interpersonal skills.Customer OrientatedAttention to detail, error free working.Work well under pressure in a fast-paced and professional environment.Flexible, willing approach to adjust to new Systems/ Processes, when applicable.
