I''m currently supporting a fast-growing restaurant group in their search for an Interim Head of Finance to join their French operations on a 3 to 4-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a seasoned finance leader who is immediately available.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of the monthly management accounts and month-end close process for France
Ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial reporting
Develop and maintain robust balance sheet reconciliation processes
Implement and enhance internal controls, driving continuous improvement
Collaborate with the UK Head of Commercial Finance to support forecasting and budgeting
Partner closely with the French Managing Director, as well as Operations and Marketing teams, providing actionable insights and commercial support
Deliver weekly and monthly performance commentary to the UK Head Office
Oversee the audit process and liaise with external auditors
Ensure full compliance with statutory reporting, including preparation and filing of annual accounts
Manage tax compliance including VAT and Corporate Tax filings
Review and approve payroll (outsourced function)
Ensure timely legal and regulatory filings
Lead, develop, and motivate the French finance team
Key Skills & Experience:
Qualified accountant (DSCG/DEC/Master CCA or equivalent), with strong knowledge of French GAAP and IFRS
Proven track record in managing month-end close and audit processes
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Fluent in both French and English
Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams
Solid business partnering capabilities with confidence to influence at senior level
Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and commercial mindset
Resilient under pressure and proactive in problem-solving
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAGE experience a plus)
Hospitality or retail background is desirable but not essential
