Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer - Rotterdam

A pioneering and well-funded engineering organisation is seeking a Principal ASIC Design Engineer to play a key role in developing high-reliability, space-grade systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to next-generation power and control systems built for extreme environments, including orbital and deep-space applications.

This client is at the forefront of applying modern software-driven design approaches to advanced hardware development. As a Principal ASIC Design Engineer, youll have ownership across the full development cycle from architecture through verification working on complex digital systems tailored for radiation-hardened, mission-critical environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in 5+ successful tapeouts
• Proven expertise in RTL design using Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Solid understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL to GDSII.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA tools and flows (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or similar).
• Familiarity with simulation and verification tools (e.g., ModelSim, VCS, SystemVerilog, UVM).
• Experience with synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), and logic equivalence checking.
• Ability to read, understand, and contribute to system-level design specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
