The Actuarial Pricing team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd., is looking for a Senior Reinsurance Actuary to join our Zurich office.
In this role, you will perform pricing analysis for a broad spectrum of P&C and Specialty reinsurance, with a primary focus on Financial Risks (Credit, Surety, Political). You will be involved in developing and pricing innovative risk transfer solutions alongside clients and brokers. Additionally, you will collaborate with underwriters to analyze portfolio profitability and support growth initiatives. You will work closely with the actuarial teams in the home office and other branches to develop pricing tools that enhance our pricing capabilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead pricing for Financial Risks and Credit Book
- Price reinsurance treaties and collaborate with underwriting to support our Financial Risks / Credit book, as well as provide pricing support to Zurich and global teams across Casualty, Surety, and Property lines
- Coordinate with underwriting and management to support our global portfolio
- Recommend updates or new models for financial lines / credit pricing
- Mentor and develop junior and student actuaries
- Participate in client visits, broker meetings, and marketing events
- Create presentations and reports for management, board, and strategic purposes
- Conduct transactional pricing analyses, portfolio studies, profitability reviews, and ad-hoc modeling
- Ensure consistency and synergies across offices through interconnected actuarial functions (Reserving, ERM, Capital & CAT Modeling, Insurance Actuarial)
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Qualified or nearly-qualified Actuary from a recognized actuarial body
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven experience in Financial Lines / Credit actuarial pricing; reinsurance experience is a plus
- Knowledge of reserving practices, CAT modeling, portfolio management, and finance/accounting
- Understanding of IFRS, Solvency II, and capital management is advantageous
- Strong business acumen, team orientation, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in dynamic, remote, and agile environments
- Programming skills in Python, R, SQL are a plus
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous
- Team player with a willingness to work in cross-cultural teams
