Our client (HQ in Abuja, Nigeria) is part of aEuropean group of investors with a strong expertise in logisticsfor semi-solid and liquefied hydrocarbon products in Africa. Thefamily owned company operates state-of-the-art productionfacilities and is building and developing a large transportationfleet and a highly specialized logistic network and infrastructureto service demanding industrial customers all over Nigeria andWest-Africa. To further manage, develop and expand the companysproduction facilities in Rivers State we are hiring an experienced: Plant Director - Oil & Gas Industry, Port Harcourt, NigeriaYour Mission : You will be responsible for the completeoperational, financial, and strategic management of the productionplant, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and regulatorycompliance. You will lead, direct, and motivate amultidisciplinary team across engineering, maintenance, operations,HSE, HR, and supply chain management to achieve the highest levelsof plant reliability, efficiency, and productivity. You willoversee plant-wide processes and systems including productionscheduling, resource utilization, industrial relations, inventoryand equipment management, quality assurance, and incidentprevention. You will hold full accountability for the sitesP&L, including CAPEX and OPEX budget development and control,cost analysis, ROI tracking for key projects, and financialperformance reporting. You will drive strategic growth byidentifying and executing on improvement opportunities, technologyupgrades, and process innovations, while ensuring alignment withcorporate goals and long-term business plans. You will ensure theimplementation and enforcement of health, safety, environmental,and security protocols across the site, and will champion azero-incident culture through regular training, audits, andcompliance tracking. You will act as the primary liaison for theplant with internal stakeholders, senior management, externalpartners, regulatory agencies, community leaders, and governmentauthorities. You will represent the plant in broader companyinitiatives, contribute to expansion strategies, and ensure thatthe plant plays a central role in the companys national andregional ambitions. You will report directly to the Group COO andwork in close coordination with the companys executive team andtechnical departments at HQ in Abuja. Your Profile : To qualifyYou hold a relevant technical degree in engineering, preferably inChemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. A masters degreein Business Administration or a related field is considered astrong advantage. You have a minimum of 15 years of progressiveexperience in the oil & gas sector, with at least 10 years in aleadership or plant/general management role within(petro-)chemical, gas production or refining environments. Youhave hands-on experience overseeing complex plant operations,including process optimization, predictive maintenance, HSEcompliance, project execution and continuous improvementinitiatives. You possess advanced financial acumen with provensuccess in managing large-scale CAPEX and OPEX budgets, conductingcost-benefit analyses, improving cost-efficiency, and achievingreturn on investment targets. You are highly skilled in managingand developing human resources across technical and operationaldepartments, including workforce planning, performance management,labor relations, and team motivation. You have demonstratedexpertise in implementing robust safety, health, and environmentalmanagement systems as well as site-wide security policies incompliance with national and international standards. You are astrategic thinker with the ability to formulate and executeoperational strategies, lead plant expansions or upgrades, andcontribute to company-wide innovation and growth initiatives. Youare a strong communicator and people manager, capable of fosteringcollaboration, engaging stakeholders, and resolving conflictseffectively across multiple layers of the organization. You areadaptable and resilient in high-pressure environments, with aproactive attitude toward change management, risk mitigation, andproblem-solving. You are recognized as a visionary yet hands-onleader with a meticulous eye for detail, integrity in execution,and a continuous improvement mindset.
