A highly regarded, long-established single-family office based in the heart of Geneva is offering a junior accountant the opportunity to join its dynamic and collaborative team on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong potential for a permanent position. Position:
Joining a busy, small team and working closely with more experienced accountants, reporting to the chief accountant. Responsibilities to include:
- Bookkeeping for multiple entities and bank accounts -including bank transactions, intercompany entries, investment and FX revaluations, accruals and prepayments
- Review invoices and expenses; coordinate payments with Treasury
- Monthly and quarterly reconciliations (bank and balance sheet)
- Assist with management accounts and funding requests
- Support annual budget preparation and year-end closing
- Maintain accounting, banking, and administrative records
- Respond to ad hoc analysis and requests as needed
Profile
- Accountancy certification
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, including preparation of journal entries and accruals - beyond basic data input
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Conscientious and reliable; used to working in a serious manner
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and prior experience of accounting systems
- Fluent in French or English, with strong proficiency in the other
- Already living and working in the Geneva area (frontalier OK) with valid work permit
- Able to start ASAP for this fixed term contract (strong potential for a permanent position)
