EMEAA Talent Partners is hiring on behalf of a leading multinational FMCG client to appoint a high-performing Key Account Manager to strengthen strategic retail partnerships in the Netherlands. The Role:
As Key Account Manager Retail, you will be responsible for managing and expanding strategic relationships with major Dutch retailers. Your role will involve shaping customer-specific plans, leading negotiations, and ensuring commercial success through excellent execution, insight-led selling, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the commercial relationship and annual business planning with assigned key accounts (e.g. Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Superunie).
- Develop and execute tailored customer strategies to achieve volume, value, and margin goals.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, promotional activity, and in-store visibility initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with trade marketing, category management, and supply chain to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Track and analyse sales performance, promotional ROI, and shopper insights to inform future planning.
- Manage customer P&L, optimise trade spend, and report performance to senior leadership.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, driving alignment and excellence across teams.
- Contribute to the commercial strategy and customer development plans for the Benelux region.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Fluent in Dutch and English both are essential for stakeholder engagement and internal coordination.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG account management, ideally in chilled or perishable categories.
- Proven success in managing key retail accounts in the Netherlands experience with Albert Heijn, Jumbo, or Superunie is highly valued.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and understanding of category and shopper dynamics.
- Results-oriented and proactive with a strategic mindset and ability to manage complexity.
- A confident communicator and collaborative team player with a hands-on approach.
