Job Purpose; To provide leadership in the business Logistics function by planning, coordinating and executing the port, rail and road supply chain of the business.**Requirements; **A Diploma in Logistics Management with at least 5 years experience in supply chain management. Import/export specifically **port,road and **rail experience essential.****Skills required; **Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager particularly involving rail and port logistics. Ability to act decisively to resolve problems. Strong report writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills/ability to motivate employees.**Responsibilities; **Liaise with Transnet on all rail transportation needs and logistics. Manage Transnet account including shipping. Liaise with externally sourced road transportation service providers. Manage internal road transportation unit. Supervise the work of the Logistics department team. Manage customer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with operations. Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability. Resolve any legal issues pertaining to transportation and or distribution. Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues. Develop risk management programmes to ensure continuity of supply. Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting or shipping. Analyse the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes. Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities. Closely monitor Exchange Rate Fluctuation, to ensure cost saving.
