Position: Director - Human Resources at Furness Insurance Services | MBA Reporting to: Responsibilities and Duties: Provide initial assessment of the severity and urgency of claims, ensuring correct procedures are followed and all relevant parties are involved or informed. Manage pending and outstanding proceedings efficiently. Assist insurers before, during, and after the appointment of external lawyers, experts, and consultants if required. Liaise with legal proceedings involving Insurance Intermediaries, Insureds, Insurers, and colleagues to determine the most appropriate course of action. Analyze investigation information and report findings and recommendations to the SCS. Review claims forms and records to determine insurance coverage, assess liability and exposure within deadlines. Set reserves within authority limits and recommend reserve adjustments. Report claims handling activities regularly to the SCS, keeping them informed of relevant information. Negotiate prompt settlements and out-of-court agreements, emphasizing fairness and adherence to company practices. Prepare reports on investigation outcomes, settlements, and denials. Maintain up-to-date diary and tracking systems, documenting analysis, recommendations, and decisions. Ensure electronic claim files are properly documented with accurate and timely information. Coordinate with Insurers, Producers, Insureds, and Third Parties to ensure efficient communication, including via the company's web platform. Knowledge and Experience: Understanding of insurance market practices and processes. Experience with Italian civil, commercial, administrative, and criminal law, and litigation/arbitration procedures. Strong written and spoken communication skills. Good time management and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
