System Engineer required. An experienced System Engineer is required by a leading player in the Cloud Infrastructure services industry. As a System Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the organisations enterprise Linux and VMware based private Cloud environment which underpins their high-availability applications and systems. As a System Engineer you will have strong Linux systems administration skills, and a a proven track record in monitoring, storage, server provisioning, and scripting (Bash, Powershell, Python). Alongside a deep understanding of Linux O/S (Debian, CentOS, and / or Redhat) you will also possess a strong knowledge of virtualization (preferably VMware) including an understanding of tooling such as vSphere, ESX, ESXi, and / or NSX (or a willingness to learn). You will thrive working in fast-paced environments, have a service-oriented mindset, and have a strong passion for systems automation and security. Commercial experience using Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and / or Ansible is also a major plus although not essential. To summarise, the System Engineer will have the following skills and experience: Significant Linux system administration and support experience (Debian, CentOS, and / or Redhat) Knowledge of virtualisation (VMware) and understanding of tooling inc. vSphere, ESX, ESXi, and / or NSX (or willingness to learn) Excellent monitoring, storage and server provisioning capabilities Passion for building and supporting enterprise private cloud environments with an automate everything mindset Strong scripting skills (Bash, Powershell, Python). Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible is a major plus The System Engineer position will be a mix of system support and project work, and the role will suit a confident self starter who has the ability to manage their own workload and work autonomously or as part of a project team. With strong technical capabilities you must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
