Role Summary
The successful candidate will support CHC with respect to flight training and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, plan, deliver and direct training programs for CHC crew and AIMS training programs;
- Formulate and implement pilot training assignments;
- Review, assess and modify aircraft type conversions in AIMS training and scheduling program;
- Develop and monitor training assignments and schedules;
- Manage SIM availability with training provider (Secure and confirm SIM slots with training provider);
- Maintain training supplier relationship with a focus on the day-to-day updates and maintenance of SIM Slots;
- Maintain crew work permits and proper visa requirements to enter into foreign countries;
- Manage other required training in coordination with the base;
- Assign training to crew in AIMS;
- Support long term planning in managing command upgrades and AC type conversions in AIMS;
- Conduct proper allowance coding for training assignments affecting roster (Allowances for add-ons, overtime, extra time, etc.);
- Book all international travel for all pilots attending SIM training;
- Responsible for all allowance pay for pilots, engineer and ground staff for BD and Australia Regions, with multiple union contracts and federal laws;
- Biweekly and monthly audits of schedules/rosters to find inconsistencies and correct, for pay and leave reporting;
- Work closely with finance department providing reports to ensure taxes for crews working in different countries are calculated properly;
- Process invoices for SIM training and other training activities;
- Ensures, through Human Resources, the union contract is upheld and updates are made within the AIMS system to guarantee proper payments for per diems, overtime, excess duty and leave;
- Assists payroll department with ensuring each base are correctly charged for their allocated crew numbers;
- Field incoming queries from all Crew, Base Managers, Regional Directors, Manager Flight Operations, Schedulers, Training Planning, Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Purchasing regarding allowance pay as well as expense claims;
- Responsible for reporting all types of leave to the Australia region Finance Dept. and manages all Field Leave balances;
- Closely liaise with Payroll analysts in regard to ADP and Celergo reporting;
- Works daily with BD and Australia Pilot/Engineer Schedulers and Managers regarding how to assign proper codes in AIMS;
- Employees must comply with and adhere to all company policies;
- May perform other duties as assigned from the manager or region/AOC assigned to;
- International travel may be required.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years experience as a Flight Coordinator or Crew Scheduler is required;
- Analysis and compliance with an Air Operating Certificate (AOC);
- Analysis and compliance with aviation regulations;
- Understanding of Operations Manual (OMA) and Training Manual (OMD);
- Experience administering a crew Collective Bargaining Agreement;
- Applying crew schedule rules and regulations to pilot roster development and implementation and ideally Application of Airline Information Management System (AIMS) to helicopters scheduling and compliance.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree;
- For candidates lacking a degree, employer will accept 4 years of experience, which must include experience requirement listed below. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training consistent with the above.
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
